Arne has extensive experience as a scientist in the field of chemistry as well as laboratory and research manager during more than 20 years at the University and in the institute sector working directly with clients, the research foundation as well as in initiating and managing projects within the European Framework programmes.
This work has also included patenting, quality management and work related to international standardization.
Arne has extensive experience in advising start-up businesses and research organizations.

At Bryn Aarflot he advises national and international clients in all areas of chemistry and in particular organic, environmental, analytical and pharmaceutical chemistry.

The work involves IP counselling, patent drafting and prosecution as well as advice during enforcement, litigation and monitoring of patents and portfolios.

Arne holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Oslo from 1988 and has work experience from teaching at the University of Oslo and as a scientist, senior scientist and research manager from Senter for Industriforskning (SI) and SINTEF in Oslo for more than 20 years. SINTEF is the largest research institute in Scandinavia with 2100 employees.
Arne joined Bryn Aarflot in 2005, and has been a partner at the firm since 2011.

Arne has a list of about 30 scientific publications and a similar number of presentations. He is also co-inventor of 7 patents/patent applications.
Arne has also given lectures in patent protection in general and chemistry patents in particular. He has also been the author of articles in international IPR magazines.
