Primary Experience

­Eirik holds 3 years of experience as a patent examiner at the Norwegian Industrial Property Office, examining patent applications within the fields of maritime, naval and aquaculture technology as well as oil and gas related technology.

Besides examining, he has engaged in statistical analysis of patent information and complex analysis tools since 2015. He has authored Patent Landscaping Reports (PLRs) for governmental research programmes, and provided the required patent data for PLRs and other preliminary searches.



Eirik holds a MSc in Marine Civil Engineering from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, and wrote his master’s thesis on numerical optimization of offshore wind turbines.

During his years in Trondheim, Eirik worked as a research assistant at the Department of Civil and Transport Engineering, conducting parameter studies of offshore wind turbine structures using FEM software. Results obtained during this assignment were presented at the European Wind Energy Association (EWEA) Offshore 2013 conference in Frankfurt, which won the prestigious Best Student Poster award.

He started as a patent examiner at the Norwegian Industrial Property Office (NIPO) in 2014, and joined Bryn Aarflot in 2017.
